i just got back from a 12 hour trip to Michigan to witness the Paulding Lights.

Needless to say i'm somewhat dissapointed and think i've effectively debunked the entire phenomona as nothing more than distant headlights. I've never read a story of anyone actually walking the 3-5 miles to the actual area the lights spawn from , so heck, i decided to go alone and find out for myself. Once at the location i found it interesting that friends back at the viewing platform where witnessing lights that i could not see even though i should have been directly below them (optical illusion). Even more interesting was that while looking back at where the crowd was stationed I noticed a car light turn on and proceed to leave, this looking nearly identical to the Paulding LIghts viewed from their reverse perspective. Even more unusual was that a car came down the powerlines road i was on...sat for a moment, turned its brights on a few times, and turned around to leave. To the witnesses 3 miles away this would appear to be a "ghost light". I had to dive in the bushes and hit the dirt so as not to be seen. I have no idea if this was the true perpetrators behind the mystery but i'm extremely suspecious as to their motivation and unusual location to park and to flicker their lights (they had no idea i was hiding 30 feet from them).

Yup you are the first person to ever walk up there too and why nobody ever came up with the car light theory is so strange, lol Dude, read all the posts on this forum before you assume you solved anything. You seem alittle emotional about the fact that your watching a simple optical illusion i'm sure it must hurt your ego. Yup, you are right, what YOU saw was headlights, but that just means you didnt see the PAULDING LIGHTS! Last time i checked, cars headlights dont swing like pendulums when driving down the road! Ya see you saw headlights, and thought you had it all figured out, but maybe ya shoulda stuck around a bit longer, then maybe ya would have seen the real deal! I don't know what the light is but i do know that the real light is nothing a man can do. At least not without an enormous budget. There is no reason to think it is a hoax because of this. There is no financial gain to substantiate an expenditure of that size or the continuous labor involved in the perpetuation of it. How can i put this so you will understand.....If you saw people tricking with headlights or spotlights then you saw headlights or spotlights. Just because people responded does not mean that they were seeing what we are talking about. When you see the real thing you will feel very ignorant, small, enlightened and embarrassed for your comments. Then you will be right where i am talking to idiots who think they are smarter than everyone else and solved the big mystery in 5 minutes. Basically it is obvious that you have not done your homework and read every post on this board as I and others have. Perhaps if you had you would have known that you were not the first to walk up there and DISCOVER the same things and DEBUNK, lmao. Do yourself a favor and read everything on this board before speaking again. Also, if you can go back to the site on quiet nights and eventually you will see it. This thing is seen at all hours of the day and night. Do you really think there are people up there just for fun all the time trying to fool you for no gain? Even if they are (and i know people do do this from time to time) that point is really mute because what you see from this is nothing extraordinary. It looks like headlights. The paulding light will not be mistaken for headlights.........end of story! As for the comments about unsolved mysteries and ripleys I dont know. I have also heard that ripleys never came and the show denies ever being there.

ok smarty pants so let me see if i understand you correctly so if i go to another location completely unrelated to where you are "supposed" to see the lights you claim that i will still see the light? What if i'm standing below the supposed location...will i see the light above me?? BS man. Yes a man with a spot light can make a "swinging light" like effect. Yes a 4wheeler or a car coming towards the crowd from a distance will give a "coming closer" like effect. I have actually traveled to the most supernatural places in the world and i can tell you this is NOT one of them. Now you trust me, if this were an actual phenomna the i dont give a nuts about lights moving back and forth, i would care about the lights actually move ACROSS THE FOREST, into the air, appearing at DIFFERENT locations through the area. Furthermore you do realize a car that turns its brights on will look slightly different that the normal cars driving by with their regular lights... Once you remove perspective from the viewers equation you completely kill this myth entirely. Also what a joke...100k.. oh yeah i'll go right ahead and knock on their door demanding my money lol. You believe every nonsene claim you see on tv?? Oh yeah you do if you believe in this scooby doo mystery.

Obviously you did not read the posts on this board as someone said. There is no sense in arguing with you because you are too ignorant. Everything has already been covered. The light does move up it comes down the trail but sometimes more staight at you than anything that a fake could do. Most of all, if you bothered to read all the posts you would see that the brilliance of it is not something that a person is going to be able to do. Like the other guy said, unless they spent a nutsload of money on equipment and then i am not sure it could be faked. What you saw can be faked, duh. you didnt see the paulding light. Its ok you are not the first to have the same experience or come on here claiming to have solved it, Give me a break. you are probably the thousanth person to say the same things and every so often somebody goes back and sees the real thing and then their stories are very different. They are the ones on here telling how it is real and they were wrong. Do yourself a favor. If you get the chance go back. When you see it you will then know as much as i do. That it is awesome and not what it is but what it is not.

By the way, i was in the woods today and i did not see Bigfoot. The guy next to me saw a deer and thought it was Bigfoot but it wasn't. Oh yeah and i know one guy once admitted to trying to fake a video and footprints so that means that all sightings are fake. Since i went in the woods once and did not see Bigfoot I have successfully debunked the Bigfoot myth. Think about how that sounds.

Oh and the other day i went fishing in Lake Superior but i didn't catch a fish so I have proven there are no fish in that lake.

Brad whoever has nothing to do with me. And no I'm not some horrible skeptic who refuses to believe in the paranormal , quite the opposite actually. Once again of all the places i've explored this was by far the most disappointing. So if you think i'm brad then i guess i'm also schizo as i dont agree with his point of view and tend to keep an open mind about a topic before labeling it as false (like the Paulding light disappointment was for me). Interesting how no one actually addressed any of my points regarding the viewer’s absolute positional necessity and the lights lack of freedom regarding varying movement patterns. Unfortunately like all misidentified and innocent hoaxes this one cannot be reproduced outside of its unshakable attributes criteria (same movement pattern, same light colors and shapes). I'm not here to backup skeptics nor believers just to seek the truth, and from the things i've seen in my travels and from the characteristics of the light there is no mystery here...

Yup, you didn't see it. That is what i have been saying. i don't disagree with what you said you saw. You think you saw car lights, you probably did. You think you saw a 4 wheeler light, you probably did. You saw people trying to trick others and them falling for it, yeah that happened i am sure. I have seen all of those things happen there too. But i have seen something you have not and that is the Paulding Light. When you see it you will know it! What you have said is that you have debunked it as a fake. You said it not me so if now you agree that you have not debunked anything than that is fine. Otherwise all you did was prove to everyone what they already knew and that is you can sometimes see lights from a man made source. That is not the Paulding light. The positional stuff doesn't matter to me. If you read all the posts on this board you will be more than informed on the subject. So yes all of your questions were answered before you even made your first post and i am not going to sit here and retype them all for you. Do your research and then you can go on pretending you are an investigator.

Distiller, dont stress over this. They guy obviously has a high opinion of himself and is not going to consider that maybe he is not right on this. The simple fact is that the only way to understand is to see the real light yourself and that obviously did not happen to him. Maybe he will come back in the future and actually see it and understand or maybe he wont but you cant make him understand. The reason is that he seems to think that he is intelligent while everyone that disagrees with him is stupid. Does not sound like a very legitimate paranormal investigator to me. I don't seem to remember a TAPS episode going like this......Ok Mary, we listened to your stories of things happening in your house. We set up all the equipment and stayed here for 8 hours straight and didn't have any of those things happen to us. We have concluded that there is no paranormal activity in your house and you are stupid.
