So - yeah... I have lived in the northwoods my entire life, and have been up to the Paulding Light countless times (and if I do try to count, I would have to say it's in the -teens somewhere...).

The Paulding Light is no more than the headlights/tail lights of cars... plain and simple.

The reason that you have all of these people claiming that the light is something more is because, in all honesty, Paulding/Watersmeet, MI would severly go down the drain if they didn't have THAT going for them. Go up there, and you will see all sorts of locals saying that the light was chasing them, blah blah blah. I walk past the creek, far past the baricade, and all the way up to the large cliff - and TA DA - have no experienced a single paranormal event the entire time. If anything, the cars are on Count Line Lake Rd, NF6962, or NF5210.

But please, enjoy it - because it's a good scare when you are wasted!

Totally agreed, dude... I saw a posting earlier that people were going up Old 45 (tards)... but I've been there tons of times too (Robbins Pond Rd. past the barricade, past the creek, etc. etc.) and there ain't jack $*#( going on up there.

Plus, for all of those that say "nobody drives that late at night"...

TRUCKERS are always driving at night... TONS of truckers all over the U.P.

Another thing that A LOT of people don't realize is that if you drive about another mile north, you can get onto an access road which will allow you to drive your vehicle all over the place --- I can't imagine how many drunken idiots were out there one night, and a smart-@$$ local drove back there and began messin' with people. The light would most deffinetly appear closer if someone was back there with their own headlights flashing, or if they were to take a spotlight back there...

Hello Dittohead! I have been there three times so i guess i don't know as much as you. The reason i have only been there three times is because i live quite a ways away so um, yeah i really do not give a rats azz about the watersmeet chamber of commerce. But the real light is not car lights. Yes i have seen what look like car lights there. (I cant believe i have to type this again). I have also seen things that are in no way on earth car lights. Perhaps if you do some reading on this forum instead of just using that incredible northwoods high school education, to formulate your opinion, everyone would be better off. I will tell you what i tell every other person who comes on here and says its car lights. I have seen things that i think about every single day for the last 8 years. If you think car lights can do that then there is no hope for you. Go with less than 4 people, go on a weeknight when its quiet there, sit quietly and wait. If you do not see something incredible, try again another night. Some people seem to deter the light and you may be one of them. But keep trying because when you see the real light it is worth it.

have to agree with distiller on this one. that guy must not have seen what i have seen there or he would not be even mentioning car lights. he was prolly there with a group of people. i have never seen anything but what looked like car lights when i was there with a bunch of people. when it is quiet the good stuff happens.
