Was there this past Monday evening around 12:30am & did experience the lights a number of times. Was also fortunate enough to meet a gentleman that had a time-lapse camera that which snapped a few shots spanning a number of seconds each. The experience was not just the light, but there were small green, red and purple lights on either side of the clearing in the forest as well that showed in the shots.
We actually took the time to walk the trail past the river and up to the point where the dirt road veers off to the left and is joined by another road from a 90 degree angle. While standing at that location and looking down the opening, we all experienced the same thing. It appeared to be a flashing red light (the kind seen on towers). The light was persistently flashing at a predictable pace and we thought we had it debunked ourselves until we hiked back up to the top of the road. From there, the light would come and go at random intervals sometimes red, sometimes white.
We tried to take some video, but after viewing it, I was moving around far too much for the video to be worth posting.
Nothing too freaky, just a neat phenomenon to see if you are ever in the area. It's rather like the optical illusion homes that the Ripley's put up in the Dells or the UP location.
