the paulding lights store is actually not that old compared to the actual lights... and the majority of people I spoke to when I was there the last few times were shocked to hear there was even a gift shop. I doubt the store has anything to do with the hype. not old enough, not popular enough.
may be more popular now after fact of fiction... but it when I've been by the giftshop there is never anyone in the parking lot. I think they get more customers as a deli than they do as a gift shop. (the online store has an actual location near the lights btw)
