if you people that say that thi light is from headlights then you didnt see the unsolved mysteries episode on the light. thay clearly say that the light is not any headlights in the distance, and seeing it for my self i dont think there is any way. a person cannot say that the light was there headlights then some just one minute after show up there saying it was them on the otherside. it is not possible.

If Unsolved Mysteries, or any other TV show, says the Paulding Light isn't headlights, that doesn't make it so. Unsolved Mysteries has made hundreds of claims about UFO's, ghosts, etc. and has yet to scientifically prove one case. TV shows enjoy showing only one side of a story to imply that supernatural forces are at work. Read my message from 9/12/2003 and I will explain to you why I believe the Paulding Light in nothing but headlights.

don't you think that if the lights were from a car then don't you think someone would have proved it. Ripleys Beleive it or Not has offered money to whomever could prove what the light is. obviously if it was as simple as car headlights don't you think that someone would have proved it by now

I was just there & observed the light 08/18/10. For those of you that say it's from headlights from US 45, while viewing a map I concluded that it would not be possible since 45 runs north, when :Dviewing the light you are looking Northwest they do not intersect. I'm not a ghost or mystery buff but I will say it was intersting to view & meet others there witnessing the same. Go check it out & draw your own conclusions.

Old 45 runs past the barriers. You can park a car on top of the hill and see headlights.

Ripley's believe it or not has investigated the lights
Unsolved Mysteries investigated the lights
Fact or Faked investigated the lights.

Not to mention there have been several teams of both paranormal investigators, paranormal skeptics, and those with a scientific interest who have investigated the lights.

There are more who can not debunk the lights than claim they have.

The one thing that is known... it can not be explained by car lights. test upon test upon test has proven it is not car lights. They even shut down the area where they believe the lights were coming from, to do the experiment... and the car lights in the experiment could NOT be seen at the area where the real lights appeared.

That being said... it hasn't been proven NOT to be natural phenomonon nor has it been proven to NOT be paranormal... it is simply unexplainable at this time.

I just know from personal experience, as well as evidence from various professional and amature investigations, that it is NOT car headlights.

I can't believe people are still using Fact or Faked as a basis. The investigators on this show are a joke, have you watched the other "cases" they have tried their hand at? All of them went bad because of poor investigation skills. As for the whole Ripleys believe it or not offering money, that has yet to be proved. There is no record of any kind of this being said. As for Unsolved Mysteries, they air every little bit of info they get from any gossip site. Almost all of Unsolved Mysteries paranormal cases have proven to be hoaxes. Everyone keeps saying that many investigators have tested Paulding and found the light to be unexplainable, yet every investigation that is made known to the public by good sources have all debunked it! Every true investigation team I have read about that has been to the Paulding Light all say the same thing. It turned out to be headlights. The ONLY show that did any investigating of the case was Fact or Faked and they botched the whole thing which is apparent to everyone that saw it, thus is the reason why there evidence was thrown out by almost everyone.

Like the guy above was saying there is no proof that Ripleys ever offered any type of reward. Every site that mentions this also states that "it has been said that Ripleys" this is a way of saying there is no proof, we are just going on word of mouth. As for Unsolved Mysteries, that is also the show that had 3 episodes dedicated to a woman who has gold come out of her tear ducts, only to find out on there third time there that it was a hoax all along, so that should tell you about them. Fact or Faked can not be used as evidence for anything what so ever. Go to a lot of the scientific research boards and see what they think about these so called "investigators". Do you know how Fact or Faked is being funded and staying on the air? Because the lead investigators dad is a senator and funds it.

I don't think the show is crooked its just that they really have no background in what there doing. The lead investigator didn't last long at all in the FBI but still wanted to be an investigator so he thought doing a show would be the best way, so Syfy recruited the typical Syfy cast. I knew something was up when Jael from Destination Truth got picked up for the show. The Asian woman on there is supposed to be a trained expert in photography and determining edited videos, yet she submits obvious fake videos at the start of each episode and it takes the other "investigators" to show her how its fake and she just looks confused and says "oh". Shes the video and photo expert yet she always has to have it explained to her by other people! It's a way for the guy to keep his "investigation" credential while not be an official FBI member anymore. All of there experiments and results have been thrown out by all scientific communities that I have seen.


For example, at the start of the season they went to try and recreate this UFO sighting (it was filmed in 09 but did not air on television til July 2010) and I think they ended up saying that it was paranormal, but January of 2010 a university debunked the claim by recreating it. For some reason they decided to still air the episode in which they cannot debunk it and claim it to be paranormal, even though it had already been in every local news paper in the area that it was debunked.

We went there in much anticipation and brought binoculars...disappointed to say it is in fact headlights and taillights. 45 has a hill north of Paulding and through binoculars, you can see the traffic streaming, discern the taillights and headlights and even see approaching vehicles turn down their brights to on coming traffic. You can also see the reflection off of street signs from the northbound traffics headlights...

Obviously, Fact or Fake didn't block off the road far enough ahead.

I'm 100% certain it's cars, but some will still argue otherwise because it ruins the romance, but sorry, I know I'm right. Maybe someone should send a squad car up the hill with it's blue and reds on...that will end the debate.
